Daft Punk?! Please wake up, please wake up…
I regret to inform you that it is possible that Daft Punk will be creating the soundtrack for the upcoming Tron sequel. This isn’t in any way a jab at Daft Punk. But this is ABSOLUTELY FUCKING DISASTROUS NEWS for the prospects of the Tron sequel. I can’t tell you how dismayed I am to hear this. Things are really not looking good. My message has obviously not been efficacious. I feel like I am in some fucking bizarro world, some alternate universe where everything if fucked-up, like in Back to the Future Part II, when Marty McFly goes to the future and everything has gone horribly wrong and Biff is some mega-mogul millionaire (it’s been awhile, but I seem to remember that). Truely, I can’t believe this is happening. There are dark times ahead for the Tron spirit.

You seriously have issues. I’m not talking about comic book issues either. The lead developer doesn’t take a jar, put a bunch of names in it, shake it up, and take out a random name. They’re not doing it to remove the “sprit” from Tron. The group that they picked for the music score wasn’t picked because they like the name. They were picked because of their retro music style. They still use the same type of moogs and synths that Wendy Carlos used in the orginal movie. Not to mention they also play real instruments.
Of course, I highly doubt you even touched an old fashioned synthsizer before.

So what, I’ve got issues. Everyone’s got issues. I’ve touched an old fashioned synthesizer before and I realize that some thought probably went into the decision. What I’m worried about is scenes with the Flynn family cruising around this dark computer world in some pimped-out light cycles, one hand on the wheel, with some bumping beats in the back. It is looking like the movie will be too slick, too pimpy. This is my point and this is the point of this whole website. I KNOW that that is what is going to get made, some Fast and the Furious (I’ve never even seen the movie, and know that it has cars and women in it) or whatever. The reason they are going to do that is because that is what will make the most people happy. My hope is that someone producing the movie (or future sequels) will hear my prayer and anything that I have said here might have the slightest effect.

Cars and Women in it? Wow… now im realize it, it MUST be a bad Movie…
Poor Alfred Hitcock, he has Cars, and for sure some Womens too, in his Flicks…
Hear your Prayer?

Come on brother, you know what I mean. There is nothing wrong with cars and women in and of themselves; I’m talking about movies with tons of cleavage and girls hanging off some stud on a motorcycle.
That is an interesting comment about Scientology-Tron, but I’m not sure what you are getting at. Maybe they could work some kind of Scientology-like cult into the Tron sequel. I remember hearing a long time ago about Tron 2.0 screenplays in the works that had to do with a kind of Apocalypse Now/Heart of Darkness like story, where Flynn has become a kind of reclusive cult leader.
